Admission Arrangements for Nursery (K1) Classes

Parents apply to the EDB for the "2025/26 Registration Certificate " ("RC") for their child from September to November 2024 KGs process the 2025/26 K1 admission applications
Upon receipt of the applications with all necessary information and documents provided, the EDB will generally take six to eight weeks to complete processing of the applications and issue the RC/ "Kindergarten Admission Permit” (“AP”) to applicants by 
 
KGs inform applicants of the K1 application results before 7-11 November 2024
If the application is successful If the application is unsuccessful
Register with one KG during the "Centralized Registration Dates" (ie. 2-3 January 2025), by submitting the RC/AP and paying registration fee refer to the K1 vacancy information released by the EDB after the "Centralized Registration Dates" (ie. from late January 2025)
 
KGs will send letters to notify parents of the admission procedures In April 2025
Parents come to the kindergarten to complete the admission procedures in May 2025

Note:
1. If parents cannot present the RC/AP to the kindergarten their child has been admitted to during the "Centralized Registration Dates", the kindergarten concerned may not be able to complete registration for their child. Hence, parents must submit the RC application to the EDB within the specified date.
 
2.  If the applicant is admitted after the "Centralized Registration Dates", parents must still bring along the RC/AP for registration.  Should parents decide to change school after registration, they are required to get back the RC/AP from the kindergarten they have initially registered, it shall indicate that that kindergarten will no longer reserve the place for the child and the "registration fee" paid to that kindergarten with which the child has been registered will not be refunded.
 
3. Parents who apply for admission for their child must submit the following personal data of the child together with the application fee $40:
the application form affixed with the passport photo of the child, a copy of the child’s Birth Certificate [if the child was not born in Hong Kong, a copy of the document of identity for visa or reentry permit must be submitted], a copy of the immunization record [attach the name of the child and the date of injection], 4 self-addressed return envelopes [affixed with sufficient stamps on each envelope]
